Following a photographic passion that combines something you enjoy with the art of photography is always cool. I've enjoyed seeing photographs that emphasize the human body, crafted by the best photographers in the world. Hard core athletes with hard core muscle, combined with hard core lighting is where I plan to go. The combination of my photographic passion and people who's passion is to mold their bodies into rock hard form should prove to be an interesting venture. I'm not sure if what I'm considering is very different from the masters but the technolgy I will eventually employ to make the images work will be interesting. This is just the beginning so check back for postings of more projects and how they were executed.
Let's begin with Lena Sanchez. After being introduced to Lena and seeing existing images of her I had a good feeling for combining some Nikon Speedlight technology with muscle. This image was part of a warmup session with Lena using Dynalite strobes and we scored a few nice images. We plan to reshoot in the month of November when she is completely shredded for an upcoming competition.

The abs above belong to Dennis Dwyer. I met him at the Fitness Plus gym on Long Island and we made this shot with a compact SQ Coolpix digital camera.
