I call this image "Infield Entertainment". It was shot in the infield of Pimilco during the Preakness Stakes day several years ago. I felt like it was an interesting angle and the timing was right on. The ironic part is my buddy Skip said the BloodHorse magazine would never run the image. Not only did they run the image, they used it on the web. Just goes to show you...

This D1x photo of Leanne was taken poolside at her house. What was once an original color image was converted to grayscale.

Then I used the NIK filter "Duplex" to control the tonal range of the image.

There was some minor retouching to the hair but the natural beauty of Leanne made the image.

This image was taken in color with a Nikon D1X and converted to black and white in photoshop.

The only thing I did was tweak the contrast a bit but left the rest of the image alone. The image came to be

after I made a joke about how poor the quality of the trainers' images were that were hanging on the wall at

FitnessPlus in Centereach New York. Since then I've shot images of most of the trainers in the gym and made

this image while shooting Maurice's portrait for the wall. This can potentially turn into a really cool portrait series of bodybuilders.
